5 Tips On Writing Online

So you want to write. Well, everyone can be a writer. Everyone can even make money writing online or offline. There is a market for anyone's writing style. The challenge is in finding that market. However, before you get there consider what kind of writing you are willing to take part in. Will you be writing for print offline or on the internet? Writing on the web takes a great deal of commitment, so being comfortable and passionate about what you are writing holds much importance. If you are considering writing on the web here are a few things I would keep in mind.

  1. You can write. Remember you can write. Do not be discouraged about your ability to write. The more you write the better you will get at it.
  2. Write often. Writing online takes a lot of effort because once you gain a following they expect you to keep them coming back for more. It is easier to lose readers online than it is offline. Writing often and providing a consistent stream of great content for your readers will help to make your site or blog sticky.
  3. Use good formatting. When writing online use bullets, numbering, and short paragraphs. These are simple ways to make your writing easy to read online.
  4. Don't write a text book. Write as if you are engaging in conversation. Online writing should not be written as if you are writing a text book or collegiate paper, unless you really are writing that kind of work.
  5. Images work. You can use images to help tell your story. Use images yo either help get your point across early on in your article or to help solidify a point later on in the article. Flickr has a lot of images to choose from.

There are many other tips available on the internet to help in writing online available on the internet. Though focused more on marketing online, Copyblogger is a great resource. They do a great job in advising and providing tricks on getting your reader's attention with your writing.

A long time coming...

A new blog has been a long time coming. I have been working on many other projects, but felt I needed a personal blog to express my journey in having a balanced life.

I really believe it is important to long life and just simple sanity to have a life which has balance. Balance where a dream and/or goal can be accomplished without having to sacrifice another.

In midst of this I am determined to have fun.
